RSPB is the UK’s largest nature conservation charity, and exists to tackle the issues that threaten our spectacular natural environment. Much of RSPB’s Loch Lomond nature reserve is a wetland that is prone to flooding in the winter, which is ideal for wildlife but not for visitors!
Previous funding from the ScottishPower Foundation enabled RSPB to build the first phase of a new pathway, transforming access for visitors keen to discover the site’s beautiful vistas and wildlife.
In 2017, funding will enable RSPB to commission the design and construction of a multi-use visitor structure that will provide shelter and seating as well as a family-friendly wildlife experience. This structure will offer a rest point, picnic area and shelter from the weather near to an already well-established pond that is home to a rich array of frogs, insects and plant life.
