Brass Bands in (about) 100 Objects

This project will protect and safeguard the artistic and cultural heritage of brass bands whilst introducing new diverse groups to the world’s largest brass band archive. As custodians of the Brass Bands archive, the charity will develop a programme of podcasts, exhibitions, schools’ outreach, and social media to share unique cultural identity to brass bands with new, more diverse audiences.

East End Stories

This project will provide twenty-four Tower Hamlets residents with the opportunity to participate in a programme of training and cultural activities which will culminate in making films celebrating the local communities’ diverse histories and culture. Participants will visit local archives and other sites and learn new skills which will enhance their wellbeing and employability.

Glencoe Folk Museum

History on the Move!

While the museum is closed for redevelopment, the charity will take their collection all over Glencoe and Lochaber to promote Highland history and Gaelic culture, visiting schools, community centres, libraries, and other charities to give their community an opportunity to reconnect to their heritage.

Amies Freedom Choirs

The charity aims to improve the health and wellbeing of female trafficking survivors by running Amies choirs, which celebrate cultural identity by singing songs from the diverse cultures that choir members represent. The choirs are testament to the power of the arts to enable vulnerable people to find a way through trauma, rediscover their voice and turn their lives around.

Documenting the papers of Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth

The charity aims to preserve cultural heritage, by raising awareness of a nationally significant Collection of textiles through researching Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth written archive. This will improve knowledge of items in the Collection and the stories they tell. A new talk programme and a range of events will be created to engage and inspire new audiences.
