ScottishPower was the principal funder of The ScottishPower Energy People Trust Fund - an independent charity focused on alleviating fuel poverty which awarded over £15.8m to 358 projects helping almost 1.7m people throughout Britain. This resulted in an increase in household income of over £96.7m. In addition, 518 jobs were created and 709 volunteers supported these organisations.

At the start of 2018, ScottishPower consolidated all charitable funding through the ScottishPower Foundation (Scottish charity number: SC043862), a separate charity established by the company in 2013. The ScottishPower Foundation supports a range of charitable initiatives that promote the advancement of education, environmental protection, arts, heritage, culture and science, citizenship and community development, as well as the prevention or relief of poverty and the relief of those in need by reason of disability or other disadvantage.

As such, The ScottishPower Energy People Trust Fund is no longer accepting applications. The ScottishPower Energy People Trust Fund was removed from the Scottish Charity Register on 21 January 2020.
The Trustees of The ScottishPower Energy People Trust Fund are immensely proud of the record number of projects and people supported and are extremely grateful to ScottishPower for over £15.8 million which they placed at the Trust’s disposal to fund these life-changing projects.
