What to expect when you apply…
Applying
So, you’ve found the right for role and you’re ready to apply. When you hit apply, you’ll be taken through to our recruitment system to complete your application. You’ll need to complete some information about you and attach your CV (and covering letter if you’d like to!).
Shortlisting
The recruitment team will then receive and review your application and will progress your application through to hiring manager shortlisting if appropriate. We usually have our opportunities advertised for 2-4 weeks, so depending on when you apply, it may take a few weeks before you hear anything. So please don’t be discouraged if that’s the case; and if you have any questions, you can contact the HR Department on 0141 614 9980 or email the recruitment team on careers@scottishpower.com.
Interviewing and Assessing
For most roles the next step will be an interview. For some roles, we may include an assessment step relevant to the role to which you’ve applied. Either way, we’ll be in touch and let you know what to expect.
Most of our interviews are behavioural (also known as competency) style. We may also include a presentation topic or a technical question or two that are relevant to the specific role. But again, we’ll let you know exactly what’s required and we’ll factor in plenty of time for you to prepare if needed. We’ll also share our behaviour framework with you, so you have a real understanding of what we’re looking for.
And finally, we’ll provide you with some handy hints and tips. Our processes are designed to get the best out of you, not to trip you up!
Offer and Onboarding
When receiving an offer from ScottishPower, we’ll call and talk you through the salary and fantastic benefits on offer. We’ll then share the full written offer and contract, agree how you would like to keep in touch whilst you wait to join us, and get busy planning to welcome you into the business!
