Within SP Energy Networks, we are focusing on harnessing technology and innovation to create the networks of the future. What you’ll be doing
As a Project Management Apprentice in SP Energy Networks, you'll have the chance to work on a range of exciting business and engineering projects and make a real-world difference. We're all about cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices, so you'll get stuck right in developing national infrastructure projects that align with our environmental goals. Managing business, IT or engineering projects that range in complexity and value, you’ll gain a breadth of experience across different business and engineering streams such as infrastructure investments and customer connections. Collaborating with different stakeholders from engineers, contracts managers, suppliers, government agencies and local communities, it’s up to you to keep the project on track. You'll be monitoring project documentation, progress reports and financial records. And of course, you'll be providing regular updates to stakeholders and management on the status of the projects, including the awesome achievements we make in reducing carbon emissions.
You will develop excellent commercial skills as you gain experience in the financial and commercial aspects of project management. You’ll explore innovative solutions that reduce carbon footprints and promote renewable energy sources. And we know the importance of environmental practices, so we'll provide continuous training to keep you up to date on the latest advancements and best practices in achieving Net Zero emissions. Not only will you be gaining valuable experience during your programme, but you'll also be making a real impact on our journey towards a sustainable future.

If you are based in Central & Southern Scotland, you will complete an SCQF Level 8 in Project Management with the training provider QA.
If you are based in Northwest England & Mid / North Wales, you will complete a Level 4 Project Management qualification with our training provider Corndel.

What you’ll bring
Scotland, England & Wales - Two Highers / A Levels at A – C (or equivalent) including Maths, Science, English, Business or IT. We’ll also consider relevant BTEC at Level 3 or National Certificate SCQF Level 6.
Ideally, you’ll also have a driving licence as you’ll need to get to different sites both during and after your training period.
