Frank Mitchell
CEO, SP Energy Networks
Frank Mitchell, the CEO of SP Energy Networks, has a large role in helping ScottishPower tackle the UK's energy challenge and ensure we're making clean energy work for Britain. He is responsible for all aspects of the Network Company’s activities in ScottishPower’s licensed areas for Transmission in Scotland and for Distribution in Scotland, Merseyside and North Wales.
Frank has over twenty years’ experience in working in the energy sector, covering all aspects of the power company value chain, in both the UK and USA. He is a professional engineer with extensive experience in the operation of gas and electric infrastructures and the modern asset management approach.
Frank has experience in leading large, diverse, geographically spread teams to achieve step change in performance. He also has a history of involvement in M&A activity as well as leading strategic business change.
On top of this, Frank has extensive experience of working with key external stakeholders including customers, government, regulations, trade unions and investors. He also has Non-Executive roles on a number of Company Boards.
Currently he chairs the Energy Skills Action Group for Scotland and works with local and national governments in support of economic and environmental goals. Such expertise is valuable as we strive to deliver on our commitment to be the UK leader in renewable energy solutions.
Leading a full life, Frank is married with three children and also enjoys football, golf, rugby and mentoring business start-ups.
