We have reinforced our commitments in support of net zero with a strengthened Just Transition strategy, published at an event at ScottishPower HQ.
The updated strategy reflects on the progress made across all areas of the business since its inception at COP26 in November 2021 and enshrines the Just Transition principles, which are embedded across all areas of the business.
Speakers from the UK and Scottish Governments and Glasgow City Council shared how the vision from COP26 has been taken forward, and discussed how global Just Transition commitments impact policies and actions across the UK.
Keith Anderson, Chief Executive of ScottishPower, said, “achieving a just transition requires everyone to work together and ScottishPower welcomes the opportunity to work collaboratively with others to find solutions that benefit not just our communities and customers, but the planet. We encourage people to read our updated strategy and get in touch to tell us what more we could and should be doing.”
SP Energy Networks is also committed to developing a Just Transition Strategy and has welcomed public responses to its recently launched consultation setting out the key building blocks of its approach. The feedback will be used to inform the strategy to help ensure the Just Transition is considered across all aspects of its work.
