Energy Networks Storm Compensation - Severe Weather

19/12/2013

SP Distribution Area - 5/8 December 2013

The storms which swept across large areas of central and south west Scotland at the beginning of December 2013, caused extensive damage to the Scottish Power distribution network in our licence area, as well as creating major difficulties for our resources in accessing the fault areas with the problems experienced on the road transport infrastructure due to storm debris and damage.

In line with the Energy Regulator, Ofgem’s Guaranteed Standards covering such exceptional situations, Energy Networks will provide compensation to customers that were without Electricity for more than 48 hours continuously.

SP Energy Networks will pro-actively contact all customers who are due compensation before the end of the year, with payments processed in the middle of January.

Energy Networks greatly appreciate the patience and resilience shown by our customers during this very difficult time.
