The bad weather which impacted areas of North and Mid Wales, Cheshire, North Shropshire, Northumberland and the Scottish Borders during the period 4/6 December 2015, caused damage to sections of the distribution network in our licence areas.
The flooding we experienced as a result of the weather conditions put at risk a number of our major substations and also created difficulties for our resources, particularly in north Wales, Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, as the road infrastructure was severely impacted.
We would like to apologise to all of our customers who lost power during this time.
With regard to compensation, in line with the Energy Regulator, Ofgem’s Guaranteed Standards covering restoration of supplies, SP Energy Networks will pro-actively contact all affected customers in the coming days to confirm the payments.
