Yorkshire Energy Customers Move to ScottishPower

05/12/2020

ScottishPower has taken on Yorkshire Energy’s customers following the company being chosen as the Supplier of Last Resort by Ofgem. Around 74,000 domestic customers and a small number of non-domestic customers will now move to ScottishPower as a result of a competitive process run by Ofgem.

Yorkshire Energy customer’s will switch to ScottishPower from Sunday 6 December 2020 and be placed on a competitive tariff.  All outstanding credit balances, including money owed to both existing and former customers of Yorkshire Energy, will be honoured.

ScottishPower will absorb a significant proportion of the costs of honouring customers’ credit balances and the cost of migrating customers over.

ScottishPower would like to reassure all their new customers that over the next few weeks it will ensure the transfer from Yorkshire Energy to ScottishPower occurs smoothly and their electricity and gas supplies will not be disrupted. A dedicated phone line and call centre will be operational from Monday 7 December for customers.

Andrew Ward, ScottishPower CEO, UK Retail, said: “We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new customers. You’re joining a safe and stable integrated energy company with decades of experience, focussed on delivering Net Zero through a green recovery. We understand that this can be a stressful time, but please be reassured we are working tirelessly to make this transition as smooth as possible for you. For the moment, we would just ask that you sit tight, we will be in touch soon about next steps.”
