We’re proud to support Poppy Scotland in its 'Light Up Red' campaign in the run up to the centenary of the end of the First World War this weekend. Our Glasgow HQ is turning red along with 150 other sites throughout Scotland, ten within Glasgow, to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended the war.
ScottishPower Renewables volunteers have also hit the streets of Glasgow with collecting buckets to raise as much money as possible for Poppy Scotland. To date around £1600.
But, it's not only in this season of remembrance that we acknowledge our debt, ScottishPower is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and our SP Energy Networks arm has an ongoing relationship with branches of the Armed Services, with many ex-servicemen bringing their skills to work with us after their service career.
Keith Anderson, ScottishPower CEO, said: “The centenary of the end of the First World War is a hugely significant anniversary and it's only right that we should join together and mark it in this very visible way.”
