ScottishPower has taken on Extra Energy’s customers following the company being chosen as the supplier of last resort by Ofgem. Extra Energy’s 108,000 domestic and 21,000 business customers will now move to ScottishPower as a result of a competitive process run by Ofgem.
Last week Extra Energy became the sixth supplier to cease trading this year. ScottishPower is the first major company to be chosen by Ofgem as the supplier of last resort and will now offer a competitive tariff to customers and honour all outstanding credit balances.
Extra Energy Customers will switch to ScottishPower from Sunday 25 November. ScottishPower reassures their new customers that over the next few weeks it will ensure that the transfer occurs smoothly. Customer’s electricity and gas supplies will not be disrupted. Customers can find out more details on the transfer at www.scottishpower.co.uk and a dedicated phone line and call centre will be operational on Monday (26 November).
