Everyone at the ScottishPower Foundation is deeply saddened by the death of our friend and Trustee, the Reverend Stuart MacQuarrie, after a short illness.

Our Chair, Anita Longley, said: “Stuart was so knowledgeable and kind. He was a joy to work with and made a significant contribution to the Foundation as a Trustee. He provided such wise counsel, an incredible knowledge of Scotland and a great and shared sense of humour.  

I remember sitting next to him at a dinner earlier this year where our discussion covered everything from Scottish football to whisky and the meaning of faith.  When we met last month I was inspired by his bravery during his illness.

We will miss Stuart very much, and our thoughts are with his family as well as his many friends.
