Longannet Visitor Centre

Longannet Power Station's Visitors' Information Centre has had thousands of people flock to it since it opened in 1998.

The Centre explains how electricity is produced - using interactive displays to cover the entire process from coal mining to the transmission of electricity and the disposal of ash.

There are also sections on the environment and ScottishPower's renewable energy operations. Visitors to the Centre can also see inside Longannet's massive turbine hall, which is big enough to accommodate an ocean liner.

To organise station tours for groups (children over 9 years old only), please contact us on 01259 730631 or email us visit.longannet@scottishpower.com
