THE FUNDACIÓN IBERDROLA LAUNCHES NEW MASTERS AND PHD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME
- The scholarships focus on training and research in the fields of energy and the environment, two of the most sought-after professions
- The Fundación will pay students’ registration fees and provide them with a monthly living allowance of €1,200 or £1,200, according to the place of study
The first round of applications can now be submitted for the Fundación IBERDROLA’s new scholarship programme for postgraduate studies (masters or PhD courses) in Energy and the Environment.
The objective of this scheme is to contribute to excellence in training and research within the energy sector, with particular focus on renewable energies, safeguarding the environment, combating climate change and energy efficiency.
In this first round, the Fundación will award up to 40 scholarships to students wishing to obtain a masters degree or develop their PhD on the following issues: renewable energies, sustainable energy systems, environment and biodiversity, clean coal technologies, emissions management and carbon capture, energy efficiency, energy storage, electric vehicles and smart grids.
Applicants must be undergraduates of Spanish or British nationality who will carry out their studies in universities or research centres in Spain or the UK. The Fundación IBERDROLA will pay students’ registration fees and provide them with a monthly living allowance of €1,200 or £1,200 according to the place of study.
Grants are for one year, however extensions may be considered according to the needs of the research project. Application forms can be downloaded and must be submitted by 28 February.
This initiative is part of the Fundación’s 2010-2014 Master Plan which, not only endeavours to improve the quality of life in the countries where the company operates, but also strives for professional excellence.
