“We welcome today’s announcement. One of the key advantages of the UK as a place to invest has been the predictable nature and stability of its regulatory regime. We have maintained throughout the ROC Banding Review that the integrity of the evidence based process is key to investor confidence.

“Although meeting the cost reduction targets inherent in this outcome will be hard work, these bands provide a platform for continued significant investment in the UK across the range of renewable technologies with important industrial spin-offs in terms of jobs and inward investment.

“By maintaining strong support for onshore wind, a relatively inexpensive technology, the costs to consumers will be minimised.  We look forward to receiving in due course the full decision from the Scottish Government on the bands to apply in Scotland”.
