The ScottishPower Advisory Board met today for the third time since it was established in December last year. The Advisory Board is made up of prominent Scottish public figures and follows a model Iberdrola has used to great success across the world. Present at today’s meeting were Ignacio Galán, Chairman of Iberdrola and ScottishPower, José Luis del Valle, Vice Chairman of ScottishPower and Nick Horler, ScottishPower’s Chief Executive.

At today’s meeting held in ScottishPower’s headquarters in Glasgow, the Board reviewed business and operational performance over the last ten months and discussed the current economic situation in Scotland. They also discussed emerging issues for the coming year including ScottishPower’s entry to the UK Government’s Carbon Capture and Storage competition and Iberdrola’s investment programme in the UK.
The Advisory Board is seen as an important link to ensure Iberdrola’s activities are globally coordinated and implemented in the most appropriate way within the UK and Scotland. The Advisory Board is chaired by Charles Miller Smith, Chairman of ScottishPower from April 2000 until April 2007. Also on the Board are Samantha Barber, Susan Deacon, Sir Tom Farmer CBE, Lord (John) Kerr, Lord (Gus) Macdonald, Sir Muir Russell and Ramón de Miguel.
